CRB response to the 2016 IPMS Constitution Amendment (Complete Rewrite)
In accordance with the IPMS/USA Constitution, society president Ron Bell has asked former national executive board members Dick Montgomery, Mike Brickman, Chuck Davenport, Fred Horky, and Dick Christ to form a Constitutional Review Board (CRB) to study a suggested amendment to our Constitution and By-Laws (C&BL), and to report our recommendations to the membership.
As you’ll note in material provided in this issue of the Journal, the amendment would make much needed changes throughout our C&BL. In the past, piecemeal change amendments have been offered, but too often NOT adopted because the needed membership voting quorum was not reached. Thus, our C&BL has gradually become more and more obsolete in many areas.
Members of the CRB have individually studied this proposed amendment, and all agreed to recommend that YOU vote its approval.
To repeat: in the past needed changes have NOT been made because member apathy prevented the necessary quorum to validate the vote. PLEASE VOTE, and ask your IPMS friends to do the same! It’s YOUR society!
